Now in its eleventh season, the mission of the
Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival continues to be to enhance the cultural life of our diverse community by bringing the highest quality musicians to Summit County residents and visitors, and to encourage chamber music appreciation across a wide spectrum of the community.

The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance is a 501(C) (3) established in 2006 by the Town of Breckenridge to focus on all things heritage-history, art, music, education- as the Town of Breckenridge moves towards its 150th celebration in 2009.  Our offices are located at 309 N. The Colorado Motion Dancers were founded in 1989 as an extension of the Summit School of Dance. It is the intention of this company to train junior high and high school dancers in the art of performance, while allowing them the opportunity to further develop their own skills in choreography and style. The Dercum Center for the Arts and Humanities (The Dercum Center) will be recognized as a haven for life-long learning.  Inspired by the natural beauty of the Center's Snake River Valley setting, participants will be provided with the creative palette upon which they can nurture their own potential, under the guidance of visiting professional artists and lecturers.  For more information, call 614-668-8804 visit www.dercumcenter.org.

Friends of the Library raises funds for Summit County's three library branches.  Major revenue sources are its tri-annual book sales, memberships and donations. Educating and entertaining the public through slide shows, author programs, etc., is a secondary purpose of the Friends. Frisco Historic Park and Museum is now home to ten historic structures and "Ches' Place" Gazebo. The Schoolhouse Museum sits on it's original location. The other nine historic buildings were all moved from various locations around Frisco. The buildings are from the 1880's to the 1940's. The 2010 Denver Post "Best Year by a Company" winner, the Lake Dillon Theatre Company is Summit County's Professional Theatre. The National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) performs in residence at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center from mid-June through early August. Each summer, the NRO selects 82 musicians and provides a tuition-free, intensive orchestral internship.  NRO musicians perform the equivalent of a full symphony season during their eight-week summer residency.  Internationally recognized, yet locally-based. Pikes Peak Young Composers have been nurturing young composers of all abilities for over fifteen years. PPYC offers an annual competition, as well as workshops for young people K-18. Many PPYC participants have gone on to major in composition and embark professionally in the field of composing. The Snake River Chamber Festival takes place every year in August. Chamber music performances are held in Keystone and Dillon on under the direction of Charles Wetherbee (concertmaster with the Columbus Symphony and NRO alumni) along with other professional musicians from various parts of the US and worldwide. The Summit Choral Society provides choral concerts on a year-round basis for community enrichment and artistic enjoyment. The Summit Choral Society aims to provide an opportunity for singers in the community to experience continued vocal training and education in choral singing techniques through a broad range of choral music from Baroque to Broadway. Summit Community Orchestra has grown in 12 years to a well-rounded, talented group. There are members from 4 surrounding counties and from all walks of life. The Summit Concert Band was formed in 1982 to give area musicians an opportunity to use their talents. The goals of the Band are to provide musicians a place to share the joy of playing music with other musicians and to contribute to the enrichment of Summit County and surrounding areas by providing concerts and live music for many local events. The Summit County Arts Exhibit Committee's mission is to add significance to the quality of life enjoyed by Summit County's citizens and visitors by instilling an awareness and appreciation of the arts. The Wall of Art, prominently showcased in the County Commons Center, gives the committee and the community an opportunity to exhibit diverse artwork. The Summit Historical Society was founded as a private, nonprofit organization on October 25, 1966. During its 40-year existence, the Society has grown to encompass 14 historical sites including a total of 17 buildings and over 17,000 artifacts.
